Rev. Rachel Gilmore graduated from Duke Divinity School in May of ’09 and headed to Hampton roads to start a new faith community that is real, authentic and rooted in ancient tradition. She is a Navy brat who’s moved over a dozen times and visited over 16 countries on 5 continents. She married her college sweetheart, Brandon and they spent two years in the Peace Corps in Bulgaria before heading to Duke and having a baby boy in December of 2008. Tonya Barlow, Director of Children’s Ministry has a passion for working with children. She came to be the Director of Children’s Ministry at The Gathering after working with children for nearly ten years at another local Methodist church. She is currently a teaching assistant for the Virginia Beach Public Schools. Tonya earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from George Mason University in 1996. Eric Greaves is our Creative Arts Director. Eric is the modern Renaissance man. He is currently works full-time @ the Christian Broadcasting Network and graduated in May of 2013 with his Masters in Divinity @ Regent University. Sevasti Aboud is the Director of Beach Gathering Montessori Preschool. Sevasti has joined our team here at Beach Gathering August 2013. She is coming to us from St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Children’s Day Center where she was the Director/Office Manager of a Orthodox Christian based preschool/daycare of 65 children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age. She lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, 3 girls (13, 12, and 8), nephew, large extended family and a little shorkie puppy. Tina Yonker is the prized Treasurer of the Gathering. In addition to paying the bills to keep the lights on, processing payroll for the staff of the Gathering and the Preschool, Tina is a mother of 3 children. You can often see her around the Gathering toting a computer with a wonderful, friendly smile. Don’t let that fool you.
